I ordered this set to replace my original. I moved in july 2013 and my hip hop abs workout was somehow lost in the transition. I originally ordered this at the end of march 2013 and started using it in april 2013. I saw results from using the set once a day, five days a week (sometimes six depending on how busy my weekends were) during my lunch hour with a coworker. We would use the 25-30 minute dvds. I followed the weight watchers meal plan instead of his and lost 23lbs from april-mid june. I stopped using it mid june because i was preparing to move and that kept me busy enough. After i moved, i couldn't find it and i debated purchasing it again. I bought it again because i know it works; shaun t has a very cheesy personality and the music really isn't hip hop but he kept me motivated because it was fun. Lol it's definitely not insanity but it isn't supposed to be. I am just hoping to see the same results i saw a year ago.

As far as the product itself, i find the work outs a ton of fun, very low impact on the knees as you can really decide how much bounce to add to the moves."

I Am 31 6'0 And Was At Least 300 Lbs With High Blood Pressure (my Scale Only Went Up To 300). A Couple Of Months Ago On My Birthday I Finally Got Fed Up On Being Fat My Entire Life. My Wife And I Decided To Start Eating Better And Working Out. Started Up Insanity Again Which I Failed To Get Though More Then A Few Weeks Twice Before And Downloaded Myfitness Pal For My Phone. Tracking All My Food For The First Few Days Without Changing My Eating Habits Was A Eye Opener. I Was Eating Over 3k Calories A Day And Sometimes Doubling Or Tripling The Recommended Amount Of Sugar And Salt Intake. This Had To Stop. I Knew What To Expect With Insanity Since I Tried It Twice Before And Failed. I Knew What It Took And How I Would Feel After The First Few Days But Did Not Care. We Started It On June 24th As Well As The Diet. I Am Not Doing Any Type Of Strict Diet Just Making Healthier Choices And Watching Portion Sizes. Myfitness Pal App Has Me At 1840 Unadjusted Calories A Day. The Only Thing I Cut Out Completely Was Sugary Drinks And Pop. The First Week Was Hell I Was Hurting Tired And Starving. But Guess What The Second Week I Was Hurting But Not Tired Or Starving. The Third Week I Had None Of The Ill Effects But Started Craving The Workouts And Looking Forward To Entering In What I Am Eating In The App. I Still Have To Modify Some Of The Insanity Workouts And Still Do Half Of The Pushups On My Knees But Each Time I Am Getting Faster And Stronger. I Have 2 Days Left On Insanity And Down To 279. Moved Down Two Belt Notches And Can Tuck In My Shirt Without Feeling Like A Blimp. Much More Visible Muscle And Feel Great. I Still Have A Cheat Meal Now And Then But Make Sure To Go Easy Before And After. We Just Bought Focus T25 Workout And Will Start That Next Week. My Goal Is To Reach 225 And Get Off High Bp Meds And Gave Myself A Year To Get There. So Far I Am Enjoying The Process And Hope I Stick Too It. I Love This Work Out And Would Highly Recommend It !! It Is Very Challenging And Not For Beginners So It's Not For Everyone. I Did The Whole 2 Month Program Once And Started Doing The Whole Thing Again About A Month Ago. I Do Not Follow Their Diet Plan But I Eat Healthy Things. I Do Not Yet Have The Body Of The Women In The Videos ( It's Naive To Think That You're Just Gonna Be Ripped Only After 2 Months Especially If You're Only Doing One Type Of Workout) But I Have Lost Weight My Flexibility Has Improved Tremendously And I Am Toning Up Everywhere!! My Endurance Has Gotten A Lot Better Also Although I Still Can't Keep Up With All The Moves They Do. At Least Now I Can Do The Whole Workout Without Stopping Although I Have To Go At A Slower Pace For Some Of The Exercises. I Do Not Get Tired Of The Workouts At All Even Though You Repeat Workouts . The Workouts Feel Challenging Every Single Time So I Dont Think Anyone Would Find It Boring Or Easy After A While. I Feel Fantastic Afterwards And Get A Really Good Post-workout High Every Time.

I Come From A Background Of Playing Competitive Athletics In High School And College. Nothing Compares To Those Two And Three-a-day Practices But I Picked This Program Up To Hoping To Rid Myself Of The Weight That I've Added Ever Since Learning About Light Beer. I Give This Program Full Credit For Being The Hardest Workout On Dvd (i Also Own P90x- But That Is A Program Centered On Muscle Development And Much Less Intense). Within One Week Of Using This Program My Resting Heart Rate Fell From 64 To Around 50. I Can't Speak To The Challenges Of Using This Program If You Are Seriously Overweight But If You Want A Toned Build And A Quick Way To Lose Pockets Of Fat - Insanity May Be Your Best Buy. This Program Is Much Better Than Its Beachbody Brother P90x At Helping To Eliminate Fat Stores But I Must Say That I Would Suggest P90x If Your Focus Is On Muscle Growth And Strength. You Can't Go Wrong With This Program Below $140. The Workouts Are Fast Engaging And Easy To Fit Into A Regimen. Just Buy It And Pop The Dvds In.

Alright Here's The Deal I'd Been A Gym Rat For Awhile But At Some Point Got Pretty Sick Of It. Was Recommended This Program By A Coworker Who Claimed That He Dropped 20 Pounds Using This. Bought The Dvds And Here's My Experience: This Definitely Works. However You Have To Combine It With A Good Diet. You Can't Still Be Eating Candy Bars And Junk And Doing This. Remember As Cliche As It Sounds You Cannot Outrun A Bad Diet. And Doing Insanity You Do Not Want To Add Any More Weight As The Program Itself Is Pretty Hard On Your Knees. Using Insanity I Dropped A Solid 15 Pounds. I Could've Dropped More If My Diet Had Been Better But I Couldn't Give Up The Beer And Burgers. Anywho The Exercises Are Intense When You First Start. And I Mean Intense In Dry Heaving For Air And Being Sore All Over After The First Day. After A Week Or So You'll Find Your Body Adapts And The Exercises Get Manageable Never Easier But Manageable. Then Month 2 Comes And Doing Fit Test And Plyometric Circuit Will Nearly Kill You. But I've Found That Combined With A Decent (and It Doesn't Even Have To Be A Great Diet) And Sleep This Will Definitely Melt The Pounds Away. None Of The Discs Are Are Easy Even The Two "rest" Discs Are Pretty Hardcore. The Program Is Definitely Recommended. I Got Such Good Results I Went Out And Bought Max 30 Right After Which Works Just As Well In Less Time. You'll Have To Commit At Least An Hour A Day To This Between Teh Stretching The Actual Exercise And Cool Down Every Workout Is Around 45-an Hour. And Then Theres The Additional Ab Workout On Some Days That'll Push Workouts To About 80 Minutes. In Terms Of Difficulty I've Found Them In The Following Order 1. Max Interval Circuit 2. Max Interval Plyo 3. Pure Cardio/max Cardio 4. Plyometric Cardio 5. Cardio Power & Resistance 6. Core Cardio And Balance 7. Fit Test 8. Max Recovery 9. Cardio Recovery 10. Cardio Abs Either Way None Of These Are Easy. I'd Recommend A Yoga Mat. And Keep In Mind There's A Lot Of Jumping And No Tips On Modifying But If You Can't Do The Jumps At First Knee Lifts Are A Good Alternative. And You'll Sweat Gallons After The Workout.

About Me: I'm A 31 Year Old Registered Nurse. I Work 12 Hour Days Taking Care Of My Patients On A Medical-surgical Floor. My Job Can Be Physically Mentally And Occasionally Emotionally Draining. It Didn't Help That I Was Indulging In The Over Abundance Of Candy Donuts Cakes Cupcakes Pies And Goodies Constantly Around The Nurses Station. I'd Come Home From Work Exhausted And All I Wanted To Do On My Days Off Was "rest". I Felt Like I Was "working Out" At Work Since I Was Rarely Sitting And My Legs Were Almost Always Sore At The End Of The Day. However The Weight Kept Adding On. I Would Sometimes Partake In The Drive Through Window. I Quit Fast Food About 9 Months Ago. It Helped But I Still Wasn't Motivated To Be Proactive About My Weight And Overall Health. One Day While In A Patient's Room I Saw The Infomercial For T25. I Thought "25 Minutes I Can Do That! I Waste At Least That Much Time Every Day. " So I Bought The Set And I Am On Week 4. Update: I've Lost A Total Of 20 Lbs. I Find Myself Being More Active In General. Hiking More And Doing More "double Days" Than The Program Calls For. People At Work Have Commented On My Weight Loss And My Scrubs Are Fitting More Loosely. I Am On To The "beta" Round Of The Program But Also Adding In Some Workouts From Alpha (such As Ab Intervals Which Still Gives An Amazing Core Workout). I Still Can Not Do All Of The Moves And I Am 49 Days In. I "modify" At Least 1/3 Of The Time. My Husband Is Naturally Lean + Naturally Athletic. He Has Been Doing The Program With Me And Finds It Challenging And Is Putting On Some Muscle. I Basically Drool Over His Arms. This Is A Great Program For Couples To Do Together In Lieu Of Watching 30 Minutes Of Tv. I Like That The Program Is Suitable For Many Different Fitness Levels. Update: Completed The First Round. 10 Weeks. Alpha+beta. Didn't Miss Any Workouts. Added A Few Extras In. Lost A Total Of 29. 2 Lbs. I Haven't Had Time To Measure But I Can Tell I've Lost More Inches As Well. I've Moved On To The Gamma Round Which So Far Is Pretty Challenging (speed 3. 0 Was Sooo Hard). I Highly Recommend This Program To Anyone Who Is Short On Time But Wants To Challenge Themselves To Work Out Intensely. Shaun T Is Very Motivating. One Thing I Ditched Almost Right Away Were The Resistance Bands. It Took Several Seconds To Set Up The Moves With The Bands- As Another User Mentioned: Precious Time Lost. Also Doing Squat Walks With Those Under Your Feet Is Impossible. The Only Thing Is If You Chose To Use Weights You May Need A Few Different Ones. I Purchased Some 5lb Weights Which Work Perfectly For Most Exercises. But For Some I Want Something Heavier/lighter. Don't Get Really Heavy Weights You Do A Lot Of Reps. What Else Can I Say There's No Excuse Not To Do 25 Minutes!

It's Worth Every Minute Of Dripping Sweat For 25 Minutes Every Day- For The Past 4 Months. Because Of Re-occuring Golfer's Elbow 2 (previously) Sprained Ankles & 2 Bad-knees- I Used The Modifier Most Of The Time. You Get Back What You Put Into It. 22lbs And 11" Loss-later I'm In The Middle Of My 2nd Round And Will Move Onto Gamma When I'm Done. *fyi- Just Being Real Here- The Band Sucks. I Invested In Hand Weights (5lb And 7 Lb) Because The Band Kept Snapping Off The Handle (good Times!) And During Ripped Circuit- It Was Easier To Transition To Hand Weights Than The Band. *btw- If You Have Bad Knees (like Me)- It Wouldn't Hurt To Invest In A Treadmill-size Mat. Wow, this is my first week on hip hop abs. This is definitely what was missing in my workout regimen, totally impressed. Shaun t makes it fun and entertaining while sweating your butt off. I was literally drenched in sweat at the end of the first video, i am absolutely stoked to get thru this program and see my results. I have gained about 30 pounds over the last 7 years and it is def. Time for me to shed those extra pounds and get my curves back. Lol! i have tried a lot of different programs and i always get bored and tired of it right away. This is so fun, you don't even realize you've been working out for 30 minutes straight, i love it. My 11 year old has joined me, next is to get my hubby on board too. If you are thinking of getting this, you will love it too.

I bought this to tone up for my wedding. It first should be said that i really have no weight issue. I easily walk 4-6 miles on an average day just going to work or the store. But i am not an avid exerciser so i wanted to shave off a few pounds and look toned, not skinny. If you have a similar goal this this will help you reach it. . I lost about 11. 5 lbs (about an inch off everywhere) in just a few months. Went from a 4 to a 2. I did one workout 1st thing in the morning about 5 days a week (6 days a week as the wedding got closer). As far as dieting i watch my portions and generally have a healthy diet anyway, so i really didn't need to add some crazy low cal diet to this plan. I am sure if you ate terrible food in a large quantity and still did shawn t you wouldn t have the same results. So, just be smart about portions, eat fresh foods, and eat regularly scheduled meals. If you need delicious healthy food ideas check out eatingwell. Com they are awesome! . . Shawn t is so fun and he really keeps you motivated. I am hooked on him. Easily the best dvd based trainer for whatever weight/fitness goal you have. The 1st few times may be hard but the best rule of thumb is never turn the dvd off until the work out is over. If you need a break take one, then hop right back in as soon as you are ready. If you pause the dvd then you may just quit for that day, so keep it running and keep thinking positively. You can reach whatever goal you set your mind to, if you work for it. Shawn t s dvds really are a great fitness tool and i hope they work even better for you. Good luck!

Best hip hop abs dvd workout (beachbody) in review

I really like these dvd workouts. They are easy to follow and i feel motivated to keep up with shaun t. The background dancers annoy me though, so that is my only complaint. I wish they weren't there! shaun t is excellent and keeping the energy up and positive. I have been doing these workouts for a month now and have seen toning in my abs and legs and feel a little sore after every work out. I do it 5 days a week and it's so easy to do in the privacy of my living room. Highly recommend!

I'm over 50 and have always had issues with my core. This last year i've been doing seemingly endless situps (over 300 a day) which kept things at bay but created tightness in my back and neck. Shaun t's workouts are just what i've been looking for. Every time i try one of the varied selection of vid's, i have more respect for his ability to choreograph workouts that are "possible" at any level. What i've seen among the negative feedback is people giving up. Don't! if you are not in shape enough to tilt tuck and tighten effectively, don't worry, just do what you can do, and you will notice the difference as well as get better and better. There's a recommended program to follow for the first two months, but i take it as a guide, not set in stone. Like i said, i'm not a youngster, and after the first two weeks, i was really feeling it. I had to skip the 3rd monday, and i've had to skip another two days in the last two weeks, as well. But wow, do i love the routines. Years ago i had access to the finest aerobics teachers while living in nyc, and since then, have been disappointed in every aerobics class i have attended. I love shaun t's workouts. They target the places he wants to help you target, with music and moves that make it fun. He makes it as much of a dance as he can. The hips, thighs and buns workout is the bomb! i was sore in muscles i had forgotten i had! it's really hard to target those upper thighs, but he really does it well. . As if the great variety of videos and their effectiveness weren't enough, there's good support for improving one's diet. After reading the materials he provides in this package through, i downloaded a calorie counting app and it has been incredibly helpful for not only for maintaining the recommended daily allowance but for showing me where i was eating hidden calories! . . Shaun t has great energy, he is encouraging, focused, kind, good sense of humor. I like him best when he's pushing it, such as in the cardio groove. So yes, this can be a challenging workout, and yet, if you are a beginner, you can modify it the way one of the models does, or more if you have to - just keep moving, keep your heart rate up, for the 20-40 minutes of the vid, and do what you can. You'll get stronger and stronger. After a month, i'm just starting to do the high impact versions of his moves, and my strength and stamina are building. . One thing that should be said is this is more than an abs fix. Because the exercises are mostly standing, by design they strengthen and slim the back, thighs, knees, arms, and other areas which a good trainer knows is what creates a strong core. (love the rainbow and the bow and arrow. ) i've lost a few pounds, and significant inches. I look forward to my workout each day, to discovering new ways to combine the videos, because of the variety that is in this package. Being able to workout from home is so convenient.

So far i am loving hip hop abs. I find that the box with the time of workouts does not actually correspond with the actual dvds but i have just put sticky notes on them to keep track. I love the workout. Its a bit over the top and corny but that's my style so it works for me. I did 3500 steps on the 33 minute cardio cd and was sweating my butt off! felt good to kick it in gear before 6am! love that it has all different timed dvds so i can always squeeze something in!

Great workout tapes - i have several shaun t workout tapes now and these add to my collection - some days i just want something light and other days i want a much harder workout and i can just choose between the hip hop abs, or the hip hop abs extreme or any of the other workout tapes i have. So i just got this 2 days ago. I am a huge fan of the beach body workouts. I have been doing brazilian butt lift and wanted a change from that routine and i wanted something more fun for cardio and ab work. (butt lift really works too but my lower body is now toned but my mid section is still squishy) so far i am enjoying shaun t's hiphop abs. I must admit that since i have been working out prior to this it is somewhat on the easier side. I still work up a sweat but i don't really feel the burn the next day. This is great for beginners and people who are bored doing cardio, he makes it fun and time flies by! if you are not someone who works out, i think this is a perfect way to start and after you have this down you can get something a little harder. For me i just do more then the required segments the calender has laid out if i feel like i have more energy and can keep going. It is def a fun work out and you do sweat no matter your fitness level. I would say def go for it.

I love this dvd set! i'm not a sweater, but the workouts always have me tired at the end and feeling good. The only downsides for me is i feel like there's not enough workouts. I went through all the dvds in a matter of days. But it's still fun doing the workouts over. Also i'm not a big fan of the music. I'd rather listen to sean t talk, and i know some ppl think he's corny, but i love him! he's so energetic and has me crackin' up. Haaay! weeerk!

Ok, so i met my husband when i was 19 and we have been married for 7 years. I was looking like beyonce back then and now i look more like queen latifa, not gonna lie. I was 120 when i met my husband. Ok ok, i was 135. But i looked good, curvy and fleshy just the way my husband likes it. Months turned into years and guess what i weigh now? a whopping 224 lbs. Yeah, you read those numbers right. Movie nights, family nights, girls' nights, all these gatherings later and after 10 years, i gained almost 100 lbs. . Then i was really sad. I wondered if my husband still thinks i'm beautiful and all that. My husband is the love of my life. Still is. And then this crazy thought crept into my head, what if he's looking at other women. Now i know he's not because i'm sure he doesn't want to be stabbed in his sleep, but i won't let the passion die between us. Gotta keep him in love, gotta keep him anxious to come home everyday. Girls, i did it for love. Now, i know inner beauty is above all, but if those curves look delicious, he's gonna want to hold you. . Ok, so about this workout with shaun t. I saw the infomercial one night over a bowl of nachos at 1am. I wasn't sure if this workout would do it for me but i logged onto online store and ordered it anyways. I put in the dvd and i started working out with the dance steps and the music and all. Shaun t works out without a shirt. I'll say it again. Shaun t works out without a shirt. Hotness. The workout is fun and the time flies. The floor boards are lifting because i'm sweating all over it or possibly because of my weight. Either way, i now use a mat. Good workout. A great buy. The dvd pack comes with a calendar with what workouts to do during the week. That was great. Gonna bring those curves back. This workout was really great for me, shaun t always reminds you to have fun. I did. Awesome.

Update:tomorrow will be day twenty-eight and i've lost ten pounds. My body is changing and i love it. I'm getting great results. My self-esteem was not so great being overweight and i'm starting to love my body again. If you put in the time you will get results. . As a mother of five children i don't get the time to run to a gym or want to pay for daycare. As a result of eating unhealthy and a stagnant lifestyle not to mention a pill the dr gave me for insomnia i gained 90 pounds. I made a choice to change my life. That being said i tried insanity with a friend and that was way too hard for me. Then we tried t-25. I liked it but didn't like having to rely on her to work out. This is what pushed me to order hip hop abs. I love it. I feel like its at the perfect fitness level for me. I push myself hard and when i want to quit sean t is encouraging the whole time to keep going. The moves are pretty easy to catch on to and i love that tonya is available if you need to slow it down but not quit. I feel better about myself each time i get to cross a day off on my workout calender. Thank you beach body.

I absolutely love hip hop abs! if you're debating whether to buy it do yourself a favor. I am on week 10 and have lost 20lbs so far and 6 inches from my waist. My body is more lean and for the first time in my life i can see abs. All in all the workouts are fun and will yield results if you stick with it.
